The holiday of Thanksgiving began as a distinctly Protestant and American Tradition. The act is itself being an acknowledgement of the fruits of labor, a time for reflection and Merryment at the close of Autumn to gather the harvest and give thanks to God for the provision and bounty that He had provided.
That is no longer the case.
Today it is something controversial, this act of giving thanks and is typically overshadowed by the cacophony of Black Friday shopping.
Nevertheless, we at the Volk App Project celebrate Thanksgiving, acknowledging the original intention and we too pause from our labors to give thanks for the workers and for the family.
Without them, we would have very little in our “society”.
